On March 15, 2020, Governor Henry Mc Master declared a State of Emergency for the State of South Carolina due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The Governor also declared that all schools will close until March 31st. In light of these developments, we find our agency challenged because a large portion of our staff have school age children or meet the definition of at-risk population. Additionally, the Governor has asked all utility companies to suspend all disconnections during this period, therefore many of our clients will be protected from disconnections through this period. We have also learned that Charleston County Municipal Courts have suspended all evictions except final evictions and we have identified that that we have no pending final evictions request.

In light of these developments, we have determined that it is in the best interest of our clients and employee's safety and well-being that we close our offices beginning March 17, 2020 until March 31, 2020 and reassess at that time. While we recognize that there will still be limited inconvenience to some of our clients, we feel this is the best course of action to take at this time.
